Madrasatul Haseeb
A call of the time
The tendency among Madrasa students to move for modern education is quite prevalent. The management and teachers in every Madrasa are well informed of the fact that those enrolled there are of two types; one, who manages to acquire modern degrees such as intermediate and graduation while studying in the Madrasa. Another, who heads for institute of modern education after passing out from  Madrasa. Unfortunately, both are at stake. Because, if the former confines his efforts to acquire some modern degrees such as intermediate, B. A. etc, which either does not go well practically, or put an adverse effect both on the students and Muslim community as well. Moreover, it also affects their Islamic knowledge as well. The second category who graduates from Madrasas, is normally of the age between 24 - 28 at the time .Now they move towards modern education and put up their efforts to get their higher education degrees such as M.Phil and PhD. Some of them fall behind their educational journey owing to their age, While those who manage to reach destinations, cross over 33 and 37 of their age. Further, if outcome went wrong, some of them age up to forty. Thus, their two third of life goes in the way of aquiring knowledge. Now they try to launch themselves in practical domain. However, once the time is riped to see the efforts bearing fruits, they find themselves at the closing end of their lives. Now, at this stage of their lives they can do a lot owing to their hard earned experiences in their life. But they are not able to do so. As of now, they don’t own the vitality, vigor and passion which they had earlier. Moreover, such students are not able to secure their admission but in limited subjects such as Arabic, Urdu History, etc. Other streams of knowledge that could have better role in serving them and the community are closed upon them. Therefore, in this age, it is call of the time that we must have such Islamic educational institutions, equally for boys and girls, which are ecuipped of both religious and modern education. So that, at the time of getting their Alimiyat degrees they also would have received intermediate level education. Onwards, those interested in religious education should be imparted specialized education in Islamic jurisprudence (Fiqh), Hadith etc and coronated with Fazilat. In this way, once they graduate from Madrasas, having specialized Islamic education along with well acquaintance of modern education, will be capable of serving considerably their religion and people along. Those interested in further modern education can get admitted easily in modern institutions and will try to attain higher level of education and benefit their family, community and religion to their best.
Positive aspects of combined education (Religious cum Modern).
1-    At the attainment of intermediate level education, they won’t just own the degrees but enjoy the knowledge too.
2-    At time of their graduating as Alim, they will find doors flat open for them. They now can become either a Mufti, Muhaddis, Literary person or if they wish otherwise, a Physician, Professor, Inspector, D.M. Businessman, I.A.S., I.P.S., Judge, lawyer and many other white collar  designations.
3-    Such an educated Muslim student, even if he doesn’t get any further education, or just gets further religious education, he won’t be just an Alim, but will also be well acquainted with English, Math, Science etc, and thus capable enough to manage his own life.
4-    If a student with this system of education reaches higher designation and power, he won’t be just a so called worldly-minded person, neither would be suffering from mere deprivation from religious knowledge of The Holy Quran, Hadith, Arabic etc, and thus, will be an Alim in true meaning of word.
5-    Suppose, if such people are there in good number at higher levels of power hierarchy, they can act as a pressure group vis-a-vis the government, and can facilitate to get our demands accepted easily. Moreover, if Islam, its provisions or its followers are subjected to any kind of objection, they can put up apt theoretical and legal defence. Such things can’t be handled either by modern-educated or purely religious-educated persons alone.
6-    By Will of Allah, as expected, such people will stand shoulder by shoulder with religious scholars in serving and propagating Islam and Ahle-Sunnah, and will win the race head-on in their respective fields.
7-    If Muslims constitute considerable number among their colleages from Non Muslims in a high designation post, it will raise the standard of Muslim community.
8-    In this way, a Muslim, In sha Allah, can reach a high profile designation in his early age and may get sufficient time to serve the religion and the community as well.
Negativities of combined education:
1-    Such an arrangement can affect both religious and modern education, and the expected outcome can go into vain.
Solution: certainly, instead of getting purely modern or religious education, combined education can affect both and turn up with harm, but if teachers are devoted and hardworking, and are matched by equal devotion and endurance on the part of students, such affects can be worn off, or will be of meagre magnitude. If still they occur, it can be set off through student’s inclination toward specialization in religious education  as well as higher studies in modern education itself.
2-     In this mode of education there may be many some additional period owing to such combination, and students may get exhausted at the end of the day. As a result, they won’t be able to accomplish their homework.
Solution: Students in purely religious institutions, manage to do around seven periods. If one more period is added to them on every day basis, i.e. five periods for religious subjects and three for modern subjects, it will work properly. And thus, more important subjects should have regular periods, and those of lesser significance should have two or three periods a week. In this way, students will neither be over loaded, nor get exhausted. And can put up enough effort to do their homeworks willingly and attentively.
3-    Such education system will force them to appear for four examinations a year, which can put students in considerable difficulty and trouble!
Solution: If we succeed to find out the mechanism we can manage the exam twoice in a year till class IX. And the idea is that we hold both modern & traditional subject’s exam along whether it is half yearly or yearly. And once it is time to high school and 12th. Then it will be made into four. Fortunately, the students and teachers belonging to Madrasa background are well known to the fact that the students in most of the Madrsas are bound to appear in four exams in a year; Quarterly, Half Yearly, Nine monthly and Annualy.  And they seem not to be in much pressure or having extra burden. Therefore, if we engage sincerely, it can be discharge easily and may not have any adverse impact.
4-    One may think that what if some one earns theses degrees through this mode of learning. It is just as having degrees of Alimiyat and Fazilat which are of no value to the govt.
Solution: Upon comlition of 10th and 12th standard from Madrasa, the marksheet is issued to the student by some recognized school or collage to which the Madrsasa is affiliated. Given the mechanism, the student will be having the same as other main stream students of the collages and institutes at large.

5-    The students having Alimiyat degree along with 12th and head for universities. They may fall prey to the unhealthy environment prevalent there, which can go against the intended aims and objectives.
Solution: It is true. However, our observation does not qualify the idea completely. Also, a considerable number of Madrasa student wish to go the universities. And the craze has gone to the extent that we can’t stop them even if we wish so. Therefore, there is no use of foul cry and regret. If we want our students not to go other way and explore new avenues in their lives, we (Muslims along Ulema and Peers) must have some ulternative programs. In this direction, an effective initiative has been taken by Prof. Sayed Mohammad Amin Miyan, in shape of Al- Barkat Institute, in Aligarh, UP. We must follow his foot print and try to have at least a branch or more in every District and at major locations if possible.
6-    Given the situation, it is quite possible that most of the students wish to go for higher education in universities and institute of modern education. It will decrease the number of qualified ulema in the religious circle which will have and adverse impact both on Madrasa and Muslim Ummah as well.
Solution: First of all, if they made trained sincerely and provided with merits and demerits of both traditional and modern system of education, it will work and bear fruit. And students will make mind to opt Fiqh (Islamic Jurisprodence) and Hadith as their career prospects.
Secondly, on the contrary if it happens, it may be compensated by other Islamic Madrasas engaged with the domain solely and this shortcoming fulfilled hopefully.
Confusion: Some well wishers and sincere members of the community may be of the opinion, what is use of donation and charity to the Madrasa which does not impart religious education.
Dear Members, you are right. However, I wish to bring into your notice that it will be unlawful at a time when most of the education in a Madrasa is based on modern system whereas the situation is equally changed here. Because as per the proposed idea, religious education will cover major portion of the Madrasa education system. While modern education would be as a prepatory to the future outlook.  So, it won’t be unlawful to extend helping hand toward such institutes and Madrasas.
Suggestions:
1-    The guardians are adviced not to engage their siblings into household work while they are busy doing their home work or school related affairs. So that the students may focus on their studies single mindedly and may find their dream come true. Believe in Allah, (the almighty), sacrifie, patience and continued effort is the key to success which is usually found missing in Muslim Ummah. One should learn that we have to sacrifie if we wish to succeed.
2-    Throgh this mode of learning not only boys rather girls also can receive their education and can enable themselves to work for the betterment of their family and community members as well. And it is worthless to differentiate between girls and boys in the field of education.
3-    Following taking such initiative, Muslims should look into the matter seriously and take time to decide the course of action ahead. On the contrary it may result into severe loss and will gain nothing. In the bargain, instead of development it may turn into legging behind and marginalization. Because, once there is a heap of shortcoming, it may not be reformed over night, rather gradually and steadily through months, years, decades or may be in a century long. However, it won’t go useless, In sha Allah. Yes, the major advantage of an initiative always requires a course of time. Therefore, don’t be in hurry. One should not think that he will see the outcome of his contribution during his life rather he should have a positive approach toward the move he has taken and wish its all around success and worth attraction. No matter whether it occurs during his life or beyond.
In view of the aforesaid, Madrasatul Haseeb girl’s school has been founded by Mufti Azhar Ahmad Amjadi, younger son of Faqeeh -e- Millat late Mufti Jalaluddin Ahmad Amjadi (May Allah be pleased with him), in which some girls are studying in first and second year of Alimiat. Like wise, Madrasatul Haseeb for boys will also come into being in near future.
I am quite hopefull to the sincere members and lovers of Muslim community that they will extend their helping hand and help us educate their sons & daughters with religious cum modern education which might enable them to raise a civilized and learned generation in future.

Educational Structure of Madrasatul Haseeb:
1.    E’adadiya (preliminary) till Alimiyat along with High School and Intermediate (7 Years)
2.    Specialisation in Islamic jurisprudence (3 Years)
3.    Specialisation in Hadith (3 Years)
4.    Computer Centre etc.
Construction Structure of Madrasatul Haseeb:
1-    To buy land space of 2 Bigha
2-    To construct a solid building
3-    To build a resourceful library
4-    To build a mosque
5-    To build a dining hall etc.
Note: We are immensely pleased to share with all concerned that we wish to make a separate arrangement of higher education both for boys and girls which is equally equipped with traditional and modern disciplines along in a civilized religious environment. So that Muslim generation can easily move towrd higher education following Matric and Intermediate and shape up its future.
